Milne Bay has become a very popular destination for visitors around the world. Most arrive in Alotau via cruise ship or by air and begin their adventure here. Milne Bay is made of many different islands and is great for divers.
During WWII the area played a major role as a naval base and has the remnants to prove it. In addition to pristine coral reeds, beautiful waters, and sealife, there are also wrecks that you can dive to left from the war.
This tour will give you a glimpse of the best aspects of Alotau and Milne Bay. The tour involves relaxation and spectacular culture that is only found in PNG.

This tour is 3 nights and 4 days.
Day 1: The tour begins at the airport once you have landed in Alotau. Once you arrive, you will be met and greeted and then transferred to the beautiful Tawali Resort. Tawali Resort is a world-renowned diving location that is excellently situated amongst the dense rainforest and picturesque water. The resort has a very well populated reef in front of it that is great for divers and snorkellers alike. There is also a restaurant conveniently located at the resort.
Depending on the time of arrival, there might be a chance to do a local village tour on your first day.
Day 2 &3: Over the course of three days, you will have an opportunity to immerse yourself amongst the locals and really have a cultural experience that is unique to this part of the world, and PNG in particular.
The tour involves daily visits to local villages where cultural tours are arranged. Here, you can spend time interacting with the locals and experiencing a day in the life of them.
The tour includes a Sing Sing in Milne Bay that will be performed by a local tribe. A Sing Sing is a traditional dance performed by a tribe that has often been passed down from previous generations. Being a part of such an important aspect of the culture is really something that will stick with you.

Madang lies on the northern coast of PNG and is the capital of Madang Province. The area is well-known to divers as there is an incredible reef that offers a great array of wildlife.

Madang is a city that offers all the best aspects of nature in one spot. The city is beautifully located seaside and also has mountainous and rainforest views.

Your tour, today, can begin from your accommodation in the city of Madang, straight from the airport, or from the wharf if you are coming in on a cruise ship. The day offers a great chance to get out an explore the city and its surrounding areas with a visit to a butterfly farm, the Malmal Canal, and the Balek Natural Preserve and Habitat.

If you are beginning the tour from your accommodation in Madang, you will be picked up in a private car from your accommodation around 9AM. If you are arriving via cruise ship an earlier time, or later time can be coordinated, no problem at all.

Once your private tour guide picks you up this morning you will head out and begin your day of exploring. We will make our way through the town of Madang, through Balashiko Betel Nut Market as we head to Ohu Village. The drive to the village where the Ohu Butterfly Farm is located is approximately 50-minutes this morning.

Once we are at the village, you will have the opportunity to see many different species of butterflies - including the national blue butterfly. There are plenty of flowers, herbal plants, orchids, and different kinds of birds at Ohu Butterfly Farm - including the famous Ragiana Bird of Paradise.

We will enjoy approximately two hours at the butterfly farm before we transfer to the Balek Natural Habitat where there is more history to explore. Here you will see fish from both freshwater and limewater, turtles and eels, have a chance to visit a bat cave that was also used as a shelter at one point for locals, and also see a variety of orchids, insects, and butterflies.

Our next stop of the day will bring us back to the town of Madang, to the wharf where we will transfer onto a banana boat and head north to Malmal Village. After an approximately 20-minute boat ride, we will arrive at the village for some more exploration. The village is a great spot for history lovers as there are plenty of World War Two remnants including warship ship tunnels, machine guns, and much more.

Before we make our way back to the city, the Malmal traditional dancers will put on a unique dance as they send us off.

From the village, you will be transferred back to Madang and dropped off at your accommodation between 4PM and 5PM.
